Welcome to TechVegas!

We are excited that you'll be joining us for our Las Vegas / Rat Pack inspired Casino Night fundraiser!

Two years ago, Birmingham’s tech community came together to celebrate the holidays with a memorable evening of food, fun, and festivities, including Tech Birmingham, Women Who Code, BASE, and several other Tech Meetups. Last year, we decided to continue the celebration and create a new tradition with Casino Night.

At TechVegas, our tech community can celebrate the new year, spread good cheer, and raise a little money to invest in the future of Birmingham Tech. In 2018, we teamed up with Screens for Schools to raise money to purchase laptops for Martha Gaskins Elementary School.

This year, our cause is even closer to “home” – TechBirmingham’s Kids Code Club! As you know, TechBirmingham hosts monthly events plus two week-long summer camps every June for kids who are interested in coding. Each summer camp works on a different project and culminates in a Demo Day where the kids can show off their work to parents and friends.

Unfortunately, not all of our students are able to bring their own computers. This year at Tech the Halls we would like the Birmingham tech community to come together and raise the funds to purchase 15 computers for our Kids Code Club students! Giving these students access to the tools they need to learn will give them a leg up on creating a future in the tech community.

Our goal for TechVegas 2019 is to raise $25,000 to ensure we can fund the computers and scholarships out of the proceeds from this event.
