In just 16 months, the Alabama Futures Fund has placed 6 investments and recruited 4 startups to Alabama. Come hear Matt Hottle, Partner and co-founder of Redhawk Advisory talk about their success in recruiting founders to the state, why Birmingham should stop acting like a second tier city for startups and what the future likely holds for both the AFF and startup communities of Alabama. 

Matt Hottle is a cofounder and partner of Redhawk, which manages the $25 million Alabama Futures Fund, Alabama?s first seed-stage venture capital fund. The fund has already been recognized as Alabama?s most active VC, with a portfolio of startups that include Doctor Wellington, Joonko, Case Status, Prepaid2Cash, TeamingPro and Linq. His goal is to not only support Alabama startups, but to also bring startup talent to the state by supporting efforts to build a best-in-class infrastructure for entrepreneurs.
