TechBirmingham is continuing its popular Navigating the New Normal webinar series. Navigating the New Normal is designed for TechBirmingham members and member companies to present practical information, tips, and suggestions to our community.

On May 12 we welcome Donnie Garvich of TwoRavens to talk about Hidden Innovators.

Creative people clash. From musicians to athletes, we hear stories about spectacular personality conflicts that arise from "creative differences". The bigger the stakes, the bigger the blowup. But, what if we were all creative? Spoiler alert, we are. And a lot of the conflicts that shape us, our relationships, and our companies are actually creative differences between well-meaning people.

These creative differences can make or break us, depending on how well we manage them. Being creative together is tough in person, and being remote, where nuance and social cues are often unavailable or easily missed, can make things even harder. However, remote or in person, humans are humans, and success in a knowledge economy depends on how fulfilled and engaged they are on a day to day basis.

My team spent the last two years working to understand how individuals are creative, and how different creative preferences come into play when you assemble teams. We call it "The Science of Social Creativity," and I'm excited to share a little of what we've learned!
