About the Role - We’re seeking a Senior AI Engineer to contribute to our Computer Vision AI model development, training, deployment, and monitoring.


Responsibilities - Train state-of-the-art image classification, object detection, and VLM architectures to perform in a wide-array of production environments both in-cloud and on the edge. Monitor AI production performance to prevent model drift. Continuously iterate on existing models to provide the best possible data and detections for our clients. Curate large training sets from scratch using City Detect proprietary data to train world-class AI models.


Qualifications - Master’s Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field


Required Skills:

    • Deep Learning / AI Model Training: 6+ years
    • Computer Vision (both Deep Learning and non-DL approaches): 2+ years
    • Python (with focus on deep learning libraries: Pytorch, Keras, Tensorflow, etc.): 3+ years
    • Proven proficiency developing and training state-of-the-art computer vision models that operate effectively in a wide-array of rapidly changing production environments (Must have)


Preferred Skills:

    • 7+ years experience with deep learning or a PhD in a STEM field
    • Computer Vision: 6+ years
    • Python expertise strongly preferred - however, candidates with deep learning expertise in a different language will be considered
    • Basic AWS/GCP understanding (compute, storage, etc.)
    • Extensive proficiency in fine-tuning open-source models/transfer learning
    • Experience fine-tuning and training generative model architectures/transformers (VLMs, few-shot detection models, S/LLMs, diffusion models, etc.)
    • Nice to have: OCR


Location

Our team operates fully remotely, with a preference for candidates located in or near the Central Time Zone to align with our core working hours. While we're currently based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we welcome talented individuals from across the region.
