Compensation:
Pay Range: $126,470 - $205,515/year

Description:
To provide expertise to plan, design, implement and support the cloud-based IT Infrastructure service delivery function. To facilitate the establishment of standards guiding technology design, including integration across multiple cloud and hosted services, and systems within the enterprise. To assist in the development and documentation of frameworks for cloud integrations and technical standards for deployments. To evaluate cloud solution providers, establish best practices for multi-cloud provider adoption, and to work with Information Technology and Security teams to monitor cloud security, privacy and address technical issues. To leverage comprehensive expertise in cloud technology intricacies to bolster technical decision-making processes and to serve as the expert resource for inquiries pertaining to specific cloud technologies. To engage in governance initiatives encompassing domain oversight, technology standards, budget, and cost control.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with Information Technology leadership and other cross functional IT Infrastructure support teams to design and implement multi-cloud solutions, architectures, and infrastructure.
2. Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for cloud architecture, automation and orchestration, governance, integration, security, support, cost management and governance.
3. Leads the design and architecture of complex cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services considering performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
4. Collaborates closely with Information Technology and Security teams to plan, design, and implement baseline cloud design solution standards across multi-cloud providers.
5. Establishes process to review and select cloud providers against standards and multiple use case requirements, considering cloud provider capabilities, options, benefits, risks, costs, and needs.
6. Assists in the design of robust security controls, identity and access management, and compliance standards across cloud environments, proactively addressing security threats and vulnerabilities.
Works with the IT Security team to manage and maintain cloud systems security of the data and network resources.
7. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, design decisions, and configurations.
8. Monitors and optimizes cloud resources to ensure efficient utilization, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance.
9. Designs management functions for the cloud environment – IaaS and PaaS visibility, proactive monitoring, alerting, and management. Evaluatse and recommends tools.
10. Provides support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
11. Oversees the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, including service consumption management and performance monitoring.
12. Conducts IT services architecture planning and engineering necessary to design and deploy enterprise IT solutions. Develops baseline analyses of IT system and infrastructure requirements, demand, and total associated cost based on solution requirements.
13. Develops of proof-of-concept pilots for cloud technologies. Collaborates with other solutions architects and technical teams to set technology direction and design.
14. Proactively works to evolve/enhance the existing enterprise cloud architecture (e.g., security, automation, monitoring, etc.).
15. Develops and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) templates using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
16. Collaborates with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems and determine priority of needs.
17. Evaluates and recommends cloud services, platforms, and tools based on best practices and industry standards.
18. Develops and maintains documentation related to cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.
19. Provides technical expertise and support to resolve complex issues and incidents as they arise.
Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues related to cloud services, networking, and infrastructure components.
20. Effectively communicates complicated cloud reports to leadership and IT partners.
21. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
22. Stays current with emerging trends and advancements in cloud technologies and platforms.
23. Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate degree in Information Systems or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience required. Five (5) years of hands-on architectural network level experience (CCNP Certification) preferred. Architect level expertise in networking, data center technologies, IP addressing, WAN connections, and security fundamentals. Requires a deep understanding of Hub & Spoke, vWAN, DNS, BGP, SD-WAN, Express Route, NVA’s, Firewall, Private Link, etc. required. Five (5) years of hands-on experience IT support in a large hospital environment preferred (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix experience). Have a deep understanding of traditional On-premises systems as well as be versed in Linux and Windows operating systems(Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022, Linux systems such as Oracle, and
Redhat) required. Five (5) years proven experience with cloud architecture design/support - large hospital environment preferred. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
Technical Certification in Cloud Architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.
