AI + Film: the continued evolution of artificial intelligence and its role in filmmaking

Join TechBirmingham and Sidewalk Film Festival for a conversation on the intersection of technology and film, in particular around tech’s most talked about topic: AI (Artificial Intelligence). As a followup to last year’s sold out program, this year’s program will discuss ways AI innovation and its impact on filmmaking has evolved in the last year. Moderated by local tech + film professional Kris Broadhead, the panel will discuss ways filmmakers are using AI to create, how the conversation around AI has continued to impact film as an industry, and more.

Panelist: Ginnard Archibald, Co-Founder of Supernaut, Owner of Studio Lucid

Ginnard Archibald is a Birmingham native with 17 years of experience in marketing, video, and social creation. A Full Sail film graduate, Ginnard discovered his passion for film and photography in high school, inspired by his dad’s old cameras. This love for visual storytelling has taken him across the U.S. for documentary series, and his work has earned him nine Regional Emmys and the title of Photographer of the Year in 2021.

Despite these accolades, Ginnard’s journey has always been about more than recognition. His deep commitment to the craft drives him to constantly explore new ways to capture true emotion and character in every frame. This dedication also led him to co-found Supernaut, a new-age agency where creatives have full control, and to become the owner of Studio Lucid, a photo studio in the heart of Birmingham, where he hopes to inspire and elevate fellow creatives.

Ginnard’s vision is simple yet profound: to use film and photography to create powerful, enlightening work that changes perspectives and encourages people to see the world in a different way.
