Description

Join Tech Equals for our October event -- a workshop on Conflict Resolution with Sharon Lovoy! Heavy appetizers and drinks will be provided!

Workshop Learning Objectives

  1. An organization’s response to conflict is where problems begin. If teams approach conflicts as opportunities, the conflict serves it purpose.
  2. Participants in this session will receive useful, practical information that can be applied immediately on the job, including tools to resolve problems with their team, customers, and leaders. They will be given an easy-to-follow process for solutions with buy-in from everyone.
  3. Utilize the “Swiss Army Knife” of mediation to end the conflict naturally AND teach these valuable skills along the way!

About the event
Problem: Individuals or teams that are embroiled in chronic conflicts are exhausting. They stay stuck. Work suffers.

However, lack of conflict can be just as harmful to an organization as too much conflict. An organization’s response to conflict is where problems begin. If teams approach conflicts as opportunities, the conflict serves it purpose. Conflict is a normal result of personality differences and everyday differences of opinion. If everyone settles for the“way it has always been,” problem solving skills suffer.

Solution: Participants in this session will receive useful, practical information that can be applied immediately on the job, including tools to resolve problems with their team, customers, and leaders. They will be given an easy-to-follow process for solutions with buy-in from everyone.

About the speaker
Sharon Lovoy, SHPR, is a Certified Mediator through Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers, Boston, Massachusetts, and CDR, Boulder, Colorado. She has engaged in helping leaders, team members (and their families) resolve their problems. Better yet, she taught them what to do in the future, so they were well equipped to handle conflicts, both personal and professional.

Sharon loves a good conflict probably because she is the oldest of seven kids and she learned that saying nothing or ignoring the problem will not make it go away. Later when she was an HR Director, she realized there had to be a better way. Through study and practice, Sharon landed on a winning strategy to deal with frustrated and bewildered coworkers, and ornery and dissatisfied customers with a 100% success rate of getting folks to a better place with the skills they need to deliver their product seamlessly, suffer.
