$89,880 - $146,055

Job Description

This role will serve the UAB Health System in the capacity as a Project Manager for the Enterprise Data Warehouse Team (EDW).  The Project Manager will focus on the timely completion of projects and initiatives for 4-7 Data Warehouse Developers.

The EDW Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and documenting a variety of data related projects in the UAB Health System.  These projects include improving operations, providing data extracts, and conducting regulatory assessments with data. This position will provide project management to those writing code and producing data for consumption.

This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as HIPAA and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) on an annual basis.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and help direct projects related to the movement, consolidation, and integration of data to be consumed in the form of extracts, SAP BusinessObjects reports, and Tableau dashboards.
• To assemble project team, assign individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project.
• Ensure that their team is adhering to the best practices of data movement as set for by the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Oversee the accuracy and validation processes in data related projects.
• Ensure that projects are thoroughly documented and tasks assigned as warranted in the tools utilized by the EDW team.
• Insure data integrity principles are in place with team adhering to quality control principles.
• Communicate with leadership throughout the health system to manage expectations and possibilities throughout a project’s life cycle.
• Report project and tasks status to management, the HSIS Project team and appropriate steering committees.
• Manage the delivery of solutions via internal, external resources or a mixture of both.
• Define roadmaps and manage ongoing demand for data in the UAB Medicine healthcare environment.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred Skills

• Prior project management experience with at least 2years managing projects in a technical environment.
• Experience in a data centered environment working to ensure that the organization’s data needs are met through quality improvement projects.
• Prior healthcare experience considered a plus.
• Knowledge of the principles in the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK).  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus though not required.
• Experience implementing the Agile project management methodologies which includes assigning sprints and overseeing their timely completion.
• Exposure to Tableau and / or BusinessObjects a plus though not required.
