Compensation:
Pay Range: $94,375 - $153,355 / year

General Summary:

The Master Data Management Systems Architect will provide application development, maintenance, and support for Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) applications. MDM solutions are utilized to create a single master record for persons or things, reconciling data from multiple internal and external data sources. The MDM Architect collaborates with customers, subject matter experts, and other team members to understand current challenges and leverage applications to meet UAB Medicine's clinical and operational needs. The position will have a deep understanding of data management and data quality principles, SQL, and Java programming to achieve optimal organizational outcomes. The ideal candidate should also have a basic understanding of healthcare practices and workflows.

 The MDM Architect will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security to safeguard patients' protected health information (PHI), following Information Technology Security Policies, and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), on an annual basis. This position will also provide ongoing system support via on call processes, monitoring and maintenance.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Configure, administer, and develop the end-to-end MDM solutions (MDM Hub, Provisioning, ActiveVOS, Elasticsearch, and Informatica Data Quality).
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams to install and maintain the MDM environment components.
  • Collaborate with the business and technical teams to develop functional, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Configure data models and business rules within MDM solutions.
  • Manage hierarchies, and configure entity objects, entity types, relationship types, and base objects and profiles.
  • Configure user interface components and MDM User Exits.
  • Development and tuning of MDM Match and Merge rules.
  • Configure roles and responsibilities for MDM and IDQ.
  • Define search queries and perform cleanse mechanisms.
  • Creation of MDM Batch jobs.
  • Build and manage MDM workflows.
  • Work with the Rhapsody integration team and others to design and develop inbound and outbound integration capabilities (real-time and batch).
  • Use Informatica Analyst to create projects, profile data, and identify anomalies in the data.
  • Development, deployment, and maintenance of data quality rules used in batch and real-time integration.
  • Assist with reporting requirements definition and collection and active review of reporting metrics.
  • Actively participate in MDM and data integration testing, including product, end-user, integrated performance, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Coordinate with Informatica for product support, emergency fixes, and regular maintenance updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. 


Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD in computer science, data science, math, statistics, or engineering.
  • Experience: Websphere, Oracle, experience working with production healthcare systems
  • Strong design, development, and support experience in Informatica MDM/C360 (IDD, Provisioning, SIF, BES, ActiveVos, Elasticsearch, IDQ)
  • Experience with real-time and batch integration
  • Understand the concepts of master data management and how to apply them to solve business problems
  • Strong ability to document and communicate requirements, technical components, standards, and best practices
  • MDM Java Web Services development and maintenance (REST, SOAP)
  • Java programming
  • Strong SQL experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Working knowledge of IDQ/Power Center
  • Unix Shell Scripting
  • Critical thinking and curiosity driven, problem solving attitude and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage time and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the US healthcare system
  • Preferred:  Healthcare experience and experience in supporting MDM in a WebSphere environment
