Salary Range 

$81,525 - $132,475

 

 

Job Description 

To conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis. To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re-engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations.


Job Requirements

Associate degree in Information Systems or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

 

Preferred Skills 


Support Nextgen EMR and Nextgen associated modules.

  • Operate as the first line of support for Nextgen EMR.
  • Act as a team lead in implementing new functionality in Nextgen or implementing Nextgen in a new clinic.
  • Respond to phone calls, email requests, and ticket requests for service and support queries with excellent communication skills and written or verbally with attention to detail and quality.
  • Follow established processes for accurate documentation and entry of requests into the IT ticket system.
  • Perform problem analysis, issue resolution over the phone (using remote tools), or via ticket system or onsite.

EHR customizations and reporting

  • Should be able to create ad-hoc reports from Nextgen systems.
  • Customize the system using template editor, document editor, and other customization tools available in NextGen based on new requirements or workflow enhancements.
  • Use SQL, Crystal Reports or existing Nextgen tools to get the data and use it to troubleshoot issues when required.
  • Use the above tools to create reports for users based on requirements and for monitoring.
  • Maintain, document customization, and monitor them during system upgrades. Utilizes data extract tools and scripting methods to import/export data and to design, test, and implement processes for bulk record add, update, or delete as required to support application.
  • Performs necessary data manipulation/format modification of source data to achieve optimal uniformly for data comparison, conversion and standardization across source data systems and interfaces.

Responsible for EHR maintenance and enhancements

  • Act as a liaison between Nextgen and users.
  • Report bugs, issues, or shortfalls to Nextgen with all the needed information and documentation.
  • Keep up with Nextgen enhancements, updates, and known issues: schedule installation and testing of these updates in both test and production environment.
  • Awareness of the healthcare information systems industry, contemporary and emerging technologies, laws, and regulations.
  • Facilitate communications with departmental staff for creating focus groups for assessing EHR enhancements.
  • Assist and participate in workflow and process changes to ensure system integrity.
  • Present new functionality and enhancements created by the vendor to keep the user base current.
