BWIT welcomes Lora Vaughn, Sr. Director of Security Operations at Fastly and Adjunct Faculty at the University of Montevallo. You can learn more about Lora's vast cybersecurity experience below-- we hope you'll join us to hear her speak on the 10th!

As Senior Director of Security Operations at Fastly, Lora brings more than 15 years of cybersecurity experience to her current role of developing solutions to secure Fastly’s network. 

Lora joined Fastly from Simmons Bank, where she most recently served as Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, Lora oversaw and supported programs that secured the bank’s systems and data.  

In addition to her role as an online course instructor through LinkedIn Learning, Lora is a seasoned speaker for cybersecurity events around the nation ranging from InfoSecurity Connect (2018, 2019) and Alabama Cyber Now (2018) to Rapid7 United Summit (2017) and Women in Cybersecurity Conference (2014, 2020).  She serves as the social media coordinator for the Women In Cybersecurity Professional Affiliate, is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Montevallo, and is a member of TechBirmingham, ISSA, and ISC2.  

Lora holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Birmingham-Southern College and is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP).
